2/24/09  COMMENTARY – CITIZENSHIP UPDATE

The debate rages on about President Obama’s US citizenship.  It is a story that can’t be found in the main stream media, however – it is the most under reported major news story of our time.  The bottom line thus far – Obama’s records are sealed and his lawyers refuse to produce them, even as the number of lawsuits filed, requesting such information, continues to grow.

Below is a brief timeline concerning this battle for the truth:

2/23/09 – US soldier Scott Easterling joined the Orly Taitz, questioning whether he need take orders from Commander-in-Chief Obama, due to citizenship concerns.
2/22/09 – Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama openly expressed doubt of Obama’s qualifications, stating, “. . . his father was Kenyan and they said he was born in Hawaii, but I haven't seen any birth certificate.  You have to be born in America to be president.
2/13/09 - President's attorneys file motion demanding birth, college records be withheld from public – they also suggested there should be "monetary sanctions" against a lawyer whose clients bring a complaint questioning citizenship.
2/11/09 – Lawsuit prepared by California attorney Orly Taitz, including a demand from state lawmakers who forward state funds to Washington for documentation of his qualifications.
2/10/09 – Apuzzo lawsuit amended to include additional claims of rights violations, including unequal treatment, because Congress did such an investigation into GOP candidate Sen. John McCain
1/13/09 – New lawsuit being brought by attorney Mario Apuzzo of New Jersey, targeting Congress as a defendant for its "failure" to uphold the constitutional demand to make sure Obama qualified before approving the Electoral College vote that actually designated him as president.
1/20/08 - Barack Obama inaugurated as 44th President of the United States.
1/16/09 – Supreme Court rejects appeal by Philip Berg.
12/16/08 – Supreme Court rejects Philip Berg challenge, alleging Obama to be either a citizen of Kenya or Indonesia.
12/15/08 - Supreme Court denies second eligibility challenge – Cort Wrotnowski vs. Susan Bysiewicz, the Connecticut secretary of state.
12/11/08 – Supreme Court turns down request to stop Electoral vote (injunction sought by Philip Berg)
12/8/08 - Supreme Court denies first eligibility challenge - Donofrio v. Wells.  This suit contended Obama inherited British/Kenyan citizenship from his father.

Alan Keyes has been in the spotlight lately, being part of at least one action to challenge Mr. Obama’s claim to citizenship.  Mr. Keyes is an American conservative political activist, author, and former diplomat, and has run in numerous senatorial and presidential campaigns.

Regarding the sanctions sought by Obama’s attorneys, Mr. Keyes wrote, “It confirms the common sense suspicion that he won't act forthrightly in this matter because he has something to hide.”

On the courts not hearing citizenship challenges, he wrote, “In effect, the courts are refusing to admit plaintiffs on this matter into the courtroom, thereby denying them justice.  Madison wrote, 'Justice is the end of government. It is the end of civil society. It will be pursued either until it be obtained or until liberty be lost in the pursuit.'"

“The denial of justice is thus a despotic act that violates the basis not only of just government, but of civil society itself," Keyes wrote.  "Given the Constitutional requirement, the only fact citizens need to justify their suit is the fact that Obama ran for president. He asked to be chosen, and therefore must answer the eligibility question," Keyes wrote,

In a recent interview, Keyes asked the reporter, “"Is he president of the United States?  According to the Constitution, in order to be eligible for president you have to be a natural born citizen. He has refused to provide proof."

He went on to say, "I'm not sure he's even president of the United States . . . neither are many of our military people now who are now going to court to ask the question, 'Do we have to obey a man who is not qualified under the constitution?' We are in the midst of the greatest crisis this nation has ever seen, and if we don't stop laughing about it and deal with it, we're going to find ourselves in the midst of chaos, confusion and civil war."

We at obamathedevil.com agree with Mr. Keyes and feel that the Supreme Court has done the citizens of the US a disservice thus far.  The good news is that lawsuits keep popping up and the issue of Obama’s citizenship will not die.  Americans want the truth about this man, and, hopefully, soon they’ll have it.  243,000 have already signed the petition for release of Obama’s records on WND (if you haven’t yet, please do so!)  

Some facts regarding Mr. Obama’s citizenship unearthed thus far:

• Obama’s alleged birth certificate was sealed by the Hawaii governor shortly after his visit.
• Kenya government officials sealed all documents relating to Barack Obama.
• Factcheck, Daily Kos, Fight the Smears all posted Hawaii birth certificates which seemed to be “lacking in authenticity.”
• MANY lawsuits have been filed questioning Obama’s citizenship – it is a concern for countless Americans - and, yet, none ever made their way to the nation’s highest court.
• According to Barack H. Obama's Kenyan grandmother, Barack, Jr. was born in Mombosa, Kenya and she was present during his birth.
• The Kenyan Government, claim they have the birthing records of Barack H. Obama, Jr. and the birth delivery records of Ann Obama, from Barack H. Obama, Jr.'s birth in Mombosa, Kenya, however, they have sealed the birth records of Barack H. Obama, et al, birth in Mombosa, Kenya and labeled them top secret as a result of the presidential election.
• Barack Obama Jr.'s mother, Ann Dunham, divorced Barack Obama Jr's father in or about 1963 when Barack Obama Jr was two years old.
• Then Barack Obama Jr.'s mother, Ann Dunham, married Lolo Soetoro, a citizen of Indonesia. Lolo Soetoro legally acknowledged Barack H. Obama, Jr. et al. as his son and/or adopted him.
• While Ann Dunham (Soetoro) aka Stanley Ann Soetoro was married to Lolo Soertoro, Barack Obama Jr. was enrolled in the public school in Indonesia as Barry Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen.
• On August 20, 1980, Stanley Ann Soetoro, initiated divorce proceedings from Lolo Soetoro in Honolulu, HI.
• There is no name change on record for Barry Soetoro, Barack Obama.
